First of all, we wish to open this blog post with clapping — a full minute of it — as Anthony and I congratulate our very own Shamcey Supsup for a stellar showing at this year’s Miss Universe pageant, held two days ago in Sao Paolo, Brazil. Though I must admit that I used to be a bigger follower of pageants in my younger years — For some reason I feel the pageants of late seem to get less and less sophisticated — I know that in my heart of hearts, I will always derive a sense of excitement from the spectacle and color of it all.

Hi everyone! It’s Arlu and Anthony, and we’re thrilled to welcome you to our new blog. We’ve been a couple for ten years now and currently live in the Philippines with our little pal, Dug the Pug.
We thought a blog might be a fun way to celebrate our shared fascination for art, fashion, travel, and food. ESPECIALLY food, which is coincidentally central to his being Italian American and my being Filipino.
Just like any other couple, we do have our terms of endearment for each other. In the mornings, I usually greet him with “Hi, Mister! To which he replies, “Hello Balloon.” And that became the name for this blog.
