The Fried Chicken Parade is passing through town, and this year, we are its Grand Marshalls!  Well, kind of.  At least that’s how it felt when we got the assignment from our food editor Migs to find the best fried chicken dishes in Manila for this month’s Appetite Magazine. Boy Ching Woo and His Battered Chicken

My initial impulse when I first heard about Boy Ching Woo’s battered chicken was to rescue it.  Thank heavens my cousins Riza and Miggy were quick to assure me that there was no sense of animal abuse here whatsoever. In fact, on the contrary, they suggested I simply sit back and relax, as we were about to have lunch in one of their favorite restaurants in Malabon, which has specialized in deep fried “battered” chicken since 1939.

I don’t know whether its good or bad each time Anthony and I happen to crave a specific kind of food at the same time. Well, lately — quite honestly, for a good few months now — the craving would unexpectedly smack us right in the face for our newest fascination: Korean fried chicken. Super crispy, super sweet. Fried Chicken ‘ala Agnes

After weeks of planning (and each of us getting over our own bouts with the common cold), we finally got around to scheduling a play date with my godson Damien, who is now 6 months old.  We always jump at the chance to hang out with him — He never fails to make us laugh.   You see, Anthony and I both ADORE kids, and I’ll admit that we often dream of someday having one of our own, but then again that’s a different blog post.  Hahaha!
