Anthony is always on the prowl for good American breakfast places here in the Philippines — So far, based on his standards, there have only been a handful of restaurants that have gotten it right. You see, it’s not just about the menu and the flavor. It also has a lot to do with the size of the portions, too, which should come heaping, overflowing, and always piled high.

There was one morning last week when Anthony got a REALLY bad craving for pancakes. Mind you, this was not the typical kind where we could take a few minutes to get dressed and drive somewhere, like Banapple or Bizu. This particular one, my friends, had to be addressed immediately — the proverbial itch that had to be scratched — and almost instantly, our usually tranquil kitchen came alive with eggs a-crackin’ and whisks a-flyin’. So, surprise of all surprises, welcome to Spontaneous Pancake Day, everyone!
